EnerMech has been awarded a three-year asset integrity management contract with South32 for its Worsley Alumina refinery in Western Australia.
The multi-million-dollar agreement sits under EnerMech’s infrastructure and industrial solutions business line specialising in engineered solutions for land-based energy and industrial developments.
The scope of the work is understood to cover inspection, non-destructive testing, rope access and insulation services at the refinery near Collie, around 200km south of Perth.
EnerMech has maintained a continuous presence at the site since 2019, supporting operations with a dedicated core crew and scaling resources during major shutdowns – with the new contract and extension options growing on previous professional relationships.
“This new three-year minimum award reflects the strength of our long-standing partnership with South32 and our commitment to delivering safe, efficient and high-quality maintenance services. Having worked alongside South32 at Worsley for a number of years, we understand the critical importance of reliability and performance at a site of this scale,” EnerMech chief executive officer Charles Davison Jr. said.
“This contract is an important step forward in our strategy to continue delivering value for our customers and growing within the onshore infrastructure and industrial market, where precision and compliance are non-negotiable.”
The Worsley Alumina operation integrates bauxite mining near Boddington (130km south-east of Perth) with alumina refining, producing powder for export to aluminium smelters worldwide, including South32’s Hillside and Mozal aluminium smelters in Southern Africa.
Since commencing operations in 1984, the facility has grown to become one of the largest alumina refineries globally.
