London, January 24, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) –––On January 22nd, the signing ceremony for the West Qurna-1 Oilfield Water Injection Project was successfully held at CPECC headquarters. This project is the largest EPC contract since CNPC assumed the role of the West Qurna-1 oilfield lead contractor. The initiative introduces advanced high-pressure water injection technology, utilizing state-of-the-art water treatment and reinjection systems to maintain optimal reservoir pressure and enhance production efficiency. The facility features a 24 MPa injection pressure system integrated with a comprehensive 260-kilometer water injection network. The implementation strategy consists of two phases, focusing on upgrading current facilities and establishing new water injection infrastructure. The completed facility will significantly expand water injection capacity from 300,000 to 1.5 million barrels daily.
