Corvias Improving Quality of Life for Military Families Through Wellness

Industry Leaders Discuss In-Home Solutions During ADC Forum

WARWICK, R.I.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Day two of the 2024 Association of Defense Communities (ADC) Installation Innovation Forum was packed with distinguished speakers and informative sessions. “Advancing Indoor Environmental Conditions for Increased Readiness and Resilience” attracted an engaged audience eager to learn more about how science and advancements in indoor wellness can contribute to positive outcomes for service members and their families living in military housing communities.

During this session, Corvias, Vitacorps and the International WELL Building Institute representatives shared how they bring pioneering indoor wellness solutions to Corvias’ military housing portfolio through the Wellness at Home Program. Pete Sims, Corvias’ DOD managing director, said, “The goal of our Wellness at Home Program is to provide the best possible quality housing for service members and their families who choose to live on the installations where we partner with the US Army. We take that responsibility very seriously and our work with indoor wellness experts at Vitacorps and IWBI is an evolution of that.”

Guest panelist Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Housing, Mark Colón, shared an encouraging outlook on the wellness initiatives and how they can tie into the Department of Defense’s Resilient and Healthy Defense Community (RHDC) Strategy. “The focus on indoor environments is linked to the RHDC factor of adopting human-centered requirements, meaning that we can provide our service members peace of mind knowing that they are housed in safe, reliable and healthy homes that allow them to focus on their respective mission when they leave for work.”

After two successful pilots, Corvias is committed to enrolling over 20,000 homes in its military portfolio into IWBI’s WELL for residential program early this year. In September, the company took another step forward by achieving WELL Residence certification for 50 homes across Fort Meade and Fort Liberty.
