Core Lithium has found an additional high-grade gold assay from its ongoing drilling program at the Shoobridge project in the Northern Territory.
The recent drilling has returned promising intercepts, including 12m at 2.93 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 56m, with 6m at 5.12g/t from 62m (SBRC0026), and 4m at 3.73g/t gold from 45m (SBRC0024).
The best result came from an individual assay of 19.76g/t gold, showcasing the potential of the project.
“Our exploration program at Shoobridge has delivered strong results, confirming the presence of shallow, high-grade gold mineralisation that remains open along strike,” Core chief executive officer Paul Brown said.
“These early successes enhance the project’s prospectivity and provide a clear pathway for continued exploration.”
Located 7km west of Agnico Eagle Mines’ Cosmo Deeps gold mine and close to significant regional infrastructure, including Union Reefs’ idle processing facility, Shoobridge offers a strategic opportunity for Core Lithium to diversify beyond its Finniss lithium project.
The surrounding region is known for hosting multi-million-ounce gold deposits, further supporting Shoobridge’s potential.
The Shoobridge drilling program, which focused on a 1km section of a 4.5km long gold trend, is set to expand.
Core has commenced a 4,500m follow-up drill campaign targeting depth extensions and new gold zones along the mineralised trend.
“If results continue to be positive, along with the additional work underway at Shoobridge, we are on track to further expand and unlock the potential of the Mount Shoobridge asset, creating more value for Core Lithium shareholders,” Brown said.
The company says with gold prices reaching all-time highs, Core Lithium’s progress at Shoobridge presents a strategic opportunity beyond its Finniss lithium project.
The company’s exploration efforts are set to intensify, with further results expected before the year’s end.
