Caterpillar has expanded its range of material handlers by introducing the Cat next generation (next-gen) MH3032 material handler.
Designed to plug the gap between the MH3026 and MH3040 material handlers, the MH3032 has a near-15m reach and is available with both drop-nose and straight-stick options for maximum configurability.
Using proven components common in the rest of the MH3000 next-gen range, the MH3032 is built with the Cat payload management system, which provides loading tool operators instant feedback inside the cab to help load the right amount of material every time, optimising production and reducing unnecessary truck wear and damage.
“Material handling is all about efficiency,” Caterpillar senior product and sales consultant Vincent Migeotte said.
“How can you move and sort materials – waste, scrap, or recycling – in as little time as possible, with as few moves as possible, using as little fuel as possible, and all without compromising safety or operator comfort?
“That’s the essential principle of our next-gen architecture. Keeping control over operating costs, without sacrificing performance, and it’s those parameters that come to the forefront in the MH3032.”
Safety is also at the forefront of the MH3032, with the Cat 2D E-fence installed to keep the arm within a predefined work area away from the elevated cab to avoid hazards.
The Cat 2D E-fence is combined with a new swing assist feature, which automatically stops the swing motion at an operator-defined preset point.
The MH3032’s material handler cab features a monitor that displays dual external camera views to maximise visibility and hazard awareness.
“Technologies like these not only help reduce the operator fatigue associated with repetitive tasks but also help improve site safety,” Migeotte said.
“Optimised movements also mean incremental improvements to time and fuel consumption.”
In other Caterpillar news, the original equipment manufacturer recently launched its Cat 395 long reach excavator for high-performance dredging, ditch cleaning and canal maintenance.
