BYD’s passenger vehicle sales had mixed results in October, with BEVs up, PHEVs down even more, and plugin passenger cars down overall. It was a similar such split in commercial vehicle sales. Electric bus sales were down, while non-bus electric commercial vehicle sales were up. Though, BYD’s non-bus commercial vehicle sales did score much higher growth than BYD’s bus sales declined.
The company’s bus sales (all electric, of course) declined by 16.2% from 438 in October 2024 to 367 in October 2025. Across the first 10 months of the year, though, note that sales were up 8.4%.
In contrast, its non-bus commercial vehicle sales were up a whopping 164.8% in October — going from 1,693 in October 2024 to 4,483 in October 2025. (And note that BYD scored only 37 such sales in October 2023.) The October 2025 sales total was not a new record, but it was the company’s highest total since June.
Across the first 10 months of the year, BYD’s non-bus commercial vehicle sales saw even much greater growth. The sales rose 327.1% year over year! Overall, they surpassed 42,000 in 2025, up from 9,849 in January–October 2025.
