BUMA Australia will continue providing mining services to BHP Mitsubishi Alliance’s (BMA) Goonyella Riverside metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin region of Queensland.
BUMA – a Delta Dunia Group subsidiary – has provided labour, supervision, technical expertise, and mobile plant services for pre-strip operations and coal mining at Goonyella Riverside since 2022.
Under the new two-year contract extension, BUMA will continue deploying three prime fleets to Goonyella Riverside. The contract will also expand BUMA’s mining services at the mine to September 2027.
“This contract extension highlights our longstanding relationship with BMA and the deep trust we have built together with its joint venture partners,” BUMA chief executive officer Johan Ballot said.
“It marks another important milestone in our growth journey and reinforces our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality outcomes, further solidifying our reputation as a trusted mining services provider in Australia.
“We remain focused on supporting BMA’s operations while continuing to contribute to the economic development of the local community.”
BUMA also recently secured contracts with Whitehaven Coal and Stanwell, two coal miners operating in Queensland.
The contract with Whitehaven will see BUMA continue providing pre-strip mining services at the Blackwater metallurgical coal mine, and the contract with Stanwell will see BUMA continue providing mining services at the Meandu thermal coal mine.
