Amidst so much negativity and struggle in the US, how about some colorful ideas for the new EV era?
In the Pacific Northwest, all sorts of electric cars are common, brightening up the grey climate. Across the continent and The Pond, Renault has launched a Brighten Up ‘Grey UK’! initiative. Renault is encouraging British car consumers to embrace joie de vivre and cast drab in the shade with some yellow and green fun. These are 2025’s must-have colors, the French brand contents. Although 69% of Brits believe color improves mood, grey remains the most popular car color in 2024 for the seventh year in a row! Renault hopes to bring joy to the roads with the introduction of the eye-catching Renault 5 in Pop Yellow! and Pop Green!
One-fifth (20%) of motorists already play the “Yellow Car” game, which is apparently a game where you shout “Spotto!” when you spot a yellow vehicle. Renault is just encouraging you to be inside one of those yellow cars, or at least a bright green one.
This campaign to brighten up “Grey UK” follows a poll Renault had conducted, which found: “69% of Brits claim color has a positive impact on their mood. More than two-fifths (43%) of Brits associate bright colors with happiness. The words most associated with bright colors according to respondents include happiness (43%), bold (35%), and joy (34%). A fifth (20%) of Brits say seeing a brightly colored car on the road makes them smile. 1 in 7 (14%) respondents think the drivers of a brightly colored car must have a fun personality.” Why not be one of those drivers!
Renault is not the only automaker offering brighter colors, though. A fun look at what is out there:
On the other hand, maybe you are a spy, a detective, or agoraphobic. Cupra has some wonderful cars for blending into the atmosphere: high-tech EVs.
Bright colors aren’t for everyone. The good thing is that electric car shoppers now have a lot of choice, especially in Europe, where people are focused on providing each other with more choice, not restricting basic rights, access to health care, and opportunities in the new electric era.
