The Spoilbank Marina in Port Hedland, a BHP-funded project, will officially open on November 29.
The project is aimed at alleviating the demand on existing boar launching facilities while improving access and safety for recreational boat users.
Work on the marina has included a community space, four-lane recreational boat ramp, boat pens, fish cleaning facilities, fishing jetty and public amenities.
An art walk highlighting Aboriginal culture has also been included, with artworks designed by Kariyarra artists.
“I am delighted the Spoilbank Marina is almost complete,” Pilbara Member of the Legislative Assembly Kevin Michel said. “This is a major achievement for not only the project, but the Hedland community, which has eagerly awaited these new facilities.
“The new facilities will transform Port Hedland’s foreshore into a cultural and social hub.”
