London, October 15, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) –––The U.S. Army could soon get new heavy-duty trucks with autonomous drive capability. Palletized Load System (PLS) A2 trucks are set to be developed by Oshkosh Defense under a new contract.

The transport vehicle is used to move supplies and equipment in combat zones. The PLS A2 delivers a range of advanced technologies, including by-wire functionality to enable autonomous operation and active safety systems that increase protection and efficiency for soldiers operating in complex environments.

Hyundai Motor Group to Connect Global Dialogue at APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting Hyundai Motor Group (the Group) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the APEC Preparatory Office under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide official vehicles for the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting, set to take place in Gyeongju, Korea from October 31 to November 1.

About 200 vehicles will be deployed, including 113 Genesis G90 sedans, 74 Genesis G80 sedans, three Universe hydrogen electric buses, and two mobile office buses. The vehicles will be used as protocol vehicles and for operational support during the meeting, as well as at various related events beforehand. Production of Mercedes-Benz GLC electric drive units at Star Assembly , a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz AG, has expanded its production portfolio and officially started the assembly of electric drive units for the all-new, fully electric Mercedes-Benz GLC. (provisional figures: energy consumption combined: 14.9-18.8 kWh/100 km | CO₂ emissions combined: 0 g/km | CO₂ class: A)[1]. The new production scopes in the area of electric vehicle components strengthen the strategic role of the plant in the Mercedes-Benz global production network and business strategy. Sebeș is the second plant in the global production network to supply the Mercedes-Benz vehicle plants with electric drive units.

The production site works closely with the German plant in Untertürkheim, the competence center for drive technologies responsible for producing the units for the new CLA and future models in the Top-End segment. With the assembly of electric drive units, Sebeș supplies key components to the production of the all-electric GLC, entering series production next year at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen, Germany.
