Daimler Buses has delivered ten battery-electric Mercedes‑Benz eCitaro city buses with a length of 12 metres to Stadtwerke Bonn (Bonn municipal utilities – SWB). In addition, the entire stationary charging infrastructure with ten charging points was created by Daimler Buses in cooperation with its subsidiary Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH, turnkey and from a single source. The finished system of electric buses and charging points will be presented on 20 August 2025 by Anja Wenmakers, Managing Director of SWB Bus und Bahn, and Bonn’s Mayor Katja Dörner. The eCitaro buses will be used in scheduled service in the city of Bonn and will complement the electric buses from other manufacturers, which have been part of the SWB fleet for several years.

Turnkey set-up of the complete charging infrastructure

The complete rapid charging infrastructure for depot charging was set up on the outdoor premises of the SWB depot in Friesdorf. Daimler Buses assumed overall responsibility for all planning and construction services in this project for the gradual conversion of bus operations of Bonn’s public transport system to electric buses. These ranged from all civil engineering and cable laying work to electrical installation and the set-up of charging stations with a total of ten charging points. Read More

The Schlingmann company has converted the Unimog into a TLF 3000 VARUS fire-fighting vehicle.
The all-terrain Unimog U 5023 comes with selectable all-wheel drive and differential locks ex works. In conjunction with the high ground clearance, it can overcome embankment angles of over 35 degrees when driving forwards and backwards. Even with the extinguishing tank body, all the off-road driving characteristics familiar from the Unimog are largely retained: The body mounting allows a high degree of torsional freedom for the chassis when driving off-road. This means that the vehicle, with its 3,000 liters of extinguishing water, 120 liters of foam compound and extensive fire service-specific equipment on board, is usually quickly where it is needed, even off-road.

To further improve traction in sandy or muddy terrain, the tire pressure control system TireControl Plus can be used to adjust the contact area of the tires at the touch of a button. Driving over flat, burning vegetation is also possible thanks to the four front spray nozzles under the front bumper. This allows the vehicle to advance directly to the source of the fire or evenly spray freshly burnt areas and fields to prevent them from flaring up again. The front spray bar can also be activated for self-protection when driving out of potential danger zones. All operationally relevant lines are equipped with heat protection ex works. Read More

Bayer from Ehingen is adding five Mercedes‑Benz eCitaro buses to its fleet. With the all-electric city buses, the company is now expanding its pioneering e-mobility offerings in the region.

Numerous driver assistance systems ensure the highest possible level of passenger safety. These include, for example, Frontguard Assist, which detects potential collisions with unprotected road users in the immediate vicinity of the front of the vehicle and warns the driver. Read More

Bentley Motors reveals a one-off personal commission, displaying one of the most complex paint offerings to date – Ombre by Mulliner. Painted by hand at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, England, the new exterior finish carefully transitions between two paint colours over the length of the car, with a truly stunning result . This new technique is now available to order, in three different colour combinations, from Mulliner – the bespoke division of Bentley.

The car is sprayed first in the contrast colours to the front and rear of the vehicle. The blend is then applied in stages using paint that has been tinted using traditional paint mixing methods to achieve the Ombre effect. This overall fade effect takes two paint technicians approximately 56 hours to apply. This time is required to achieve the correct blend of paint. Due to the complexity of how the two paints combine, the choice of colours that that are available have been specifically curated. This ensures a uniform and gradual transition between the two. Each paint colour behaves differently on application; therefore, the Paint Technician must react to this during the application of the blend. This means each car will be unique but will look perfect to the naked eye. Read More

EXP 15, Bentley Motors’ newest design vision, has made its public debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. While not intended for production, the imposing and innovative grand tourer provides hints to the design of future Bentleys including the brand’s keenly anticipated first fully electric car.

With its iconic upright grille, long ‘endless’ bonnet and rearward cabin, EXP 15 has echoes of the 1930 Bentley Speed Six Gurney Nutting Sportsman coupé, often known as the “Blue Train”. Like that iconic Bentley from 95 years ago, EXP 15 features three seats to afford greater luxury in transit for its occupants, with innovative in-cabin storage for treasured pets and/or hand luggage.

The EXP 15 concept embodies five exterior design principles that will influence Bentley’s future production cars. Upright Elegance defines the profile of the front fender; Iconic Grille reinterprets the famed Bentley grille for the new electric era; Endless Bonnet Line reflects the heritage of the marque’s seminal designs; Resting Beast conveys the visual language of lean muscularity; and Prestigious Shield defines the rear panel that frames the reimagined Winged B emblem. Together, these principles define the form and function of luxurious and sustainable grand tourers that could only ever be Bentleys. Read More

Lamborghini presents the Fenomeno, a few-off limited edition of just 29 cars that celebrates the brand’s heritage of exclusive models; new levels of performance and technical innovation; and iconic and essential design from Lamborghini Centro Stile, which 20 years ago presented the first car entirely designed by the recently-founded Sant’Agata Bolognese design department.

The Fenomeno is an original Lamborghini ‘design manifesto’, taking the brand’s most representative stylistic elements to the extreme. In addition to the unique design and custom aerodynamics developed for the vehicle, the Fenomeno is equipped with the most powerful V12 in Lamborghini’s history, combined with three electric motors. The total power output is 1,080 CV, with a record 835 CV provided by the naturally aspirated V12 engine and a further 245 CV developed by the three electric motors. Fenomeno is defined by an extraordinary and unprecedented level of power, which the driver can fully exploit thanks to technical solutions incorporated for the first time on a Lamborghini, such as the 6D sensor and CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic brakes. The powertrain is housed in the monofuselage, Lamborghini’s innovative aeronautics-inspired chassis, which as well as a monocoque made entirely of multi-technology carbon fiber, has a front structure in Forged Composite®, a special material made of short carbon fiber soaked in resin. This material has been produced and used by Lamborghini since the 2007 debut of the Reventón, the forerunner of all few-offs and a trailblazer thanks to its futuristic bodywork made entirely of carbon fiber.

The Fenomeno is also equipped with technologies typically found in race cars, optimizing the car’s dynamics and delivering to the driver the best experience ever at the wheel of a V12. The CCM-R Plus brake system with carbon-ceramic discs guarantees maximum efficiency on both road and track. The single-nut forged rims contribute to delivering exceptional agility, while the special track-oriented tires custom-engineered by Bridgestone offer outstanding grip. Completing the Fenomeno is sport-tuned suspension, making the Fenomeno extremely precise and stable during sports driving. Read More

Mercedes‑Benz and TSR Group GmbH & Co. KG are continuing to drive forward their partnership, established in 2024, towards a sustainable circular economy for end-of-life vehicles. As part of an “urban mining” pilot project, the partners are setting up an innovative collection site for end-of-life vehicles for the first time. The aim is to strategically utilise urban sources of raw materials. Value chains are to be closed, and high-quality secondary raw materials recovered for use in new Mercedes‑Benz vehicles. The pilot project will start in the summer of 2025. Together with TSR, end-of-life vehicles purchased in northwest Germany will be dismantled regardless of their make. Legally classified pollutants and valuable, easily accessible components will be removed. The materials will then be processed using an innovative recycling method developed by the TSR Group. Materials such as steel, aluminium, plastic, copper, and glass will be recovered, sorted by type and then reintegrated into the production cycle via selected material suppliers. The pilot project offers potential for further holistic development. The aim of the project is to pave the way for a resilient and sustainable supply of raw materials for the automotive industry. It shows how strategic partnerships can close industrial cycles and allow valuable materials to be reused efficiently. Read More

One of the absolute stars of the Supercars exhibition, which runs at the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena until February 16, 2026, is the latest Ferrari Limited Series model: the spectacular new F80. Reflecting its status as the pinnacle of dynamic expression at Maranello, the F80 is being presented to the public in a fittingly dynamic narrative; one that is without precedent. For the first time, the evolutionary process leading up to the final model is being showcased.

The brand new F80 is displayed by following different stages of the car’s physical development – what the Museum describes as “a kind of rolling exhibition within the exhibition”. It’s an exceptional, exciting opportunity to look within the normally secret work behind the creation of a new Ferrari. Visitors are able to inspect Ferrari prototypes, the development vehicles that enable the testing of new technologies, such as engines, suspension, aerodynamics and electrification systems. The presentation is set to encompass stages from the development mule to the pre-series prototype to the final styling buck.

For the first months, the ‘Becoming F80’ stand lets visitors get close to what engineers call the ‘mulotipo’. This literally means ‘mule type’ – an expression that describes how the development ‘mule’ has a body that does not represent the final model. Read More
