Argyle Resources has secured essential permissions from private landowners to launch its Matapedia silica exploration programme in Quebec, Canada.
This is a significant step for the company as it moves forward with its comprehensive exploration work, in alliance with the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS).
Scheduled in 2024, the exploration programme encompasses detailed activities designed to advance the Matapedia silica project.
These include geological reconnaissance, high-resolution drone imagery, thermal infrared, LIDAR drone imagery and drone magnetometric survey.
Geological and structural mapping, sampling work and overburden stripping are also included in the programme.
The programme will further incorporate real-time kinematic mapping and total station survey, alongside the collection of bulk samples for laboratory assessments.

INRS technicians have already made progress on-site, initiating the geolocation of silica outcrops using GPS technology.
These outcrops are currently being prepared and sampled, marking the initial phase of the exploration work.
Argyle Resources is dedicated to progressing its silica exploration projects by leveraging innovative techniques and fostering strong partnerships.
Argyle CEO Jeff Stevens said: “We are excited to move forward with the phase one exploration of the Matapedia project following the successful acquisition of permissions from the private landholders.
“The INRS-led 2024 exploration programme will provide critical insights into the high-grade silica potential at Matapedia. We are confident that these efforts will yield valuable information and enhance the project’s potential.”
In June 2024, Argyle Resources gained full ownership of three silica projects in Quebec from Charlevoix Silica.
The three assets are the Matapedia, Lac Comporte and Pilgrim Island Quartzite Silica projects.
The deal involves a payment of C$150,000 and the issuance of 750,000 common shares in Argyle Resources.
