It’s no secret that CleanTechnica readers love things like solar panels and EVs. That’s kind of the point, right? So, when we came across an opportunity to support one while possibly winning the other, we basically had no choice but to share! In short, the Illinois Solar Education Association (ISEA) is raffling off a Rivian (your choice of an R1S or an R1T — whatever floats your boat, so to speak) to raise money for education and outreach initiatives.
Only 3,000 tickets will be sold (you can buy yours here), which means that you’ll have a lot better odds than you would have with something like the lottery. Tickets are going for $100, but if you buy 4 tickets, you can get them for $300 (that’s $75 a piece). As many readers know, a shot at a Rivian means a shot at one of the best adventure vehicles you can get, while also having the benefit of being all-electric.
While most people buying a ticket won’t win a Rivian, everyone still wins by supporting ISEA’s mission. The organization engages in outreach and advocacy, which might sound a little vague on the surface, but when you consider that the Inflation Reduction Act and Climate and Equitable Jobs Act are both putting a lot of money toward improving the cleantech situation in Illinois, someone needs to be there to guide families, companies, and governments through the process.
In other words, every dollar ISEA gets multiplies the effectiveness of dollars the federal government is already pouring into the state. This means more and better renewable energy, efficient household appliances, heat pumps, EV charging stations, and more. I don’t live in Illinois, and neither do most readers, but a strong Illinois means a stronger Midwest, and a stronger Midwest means a stronger America.
Plus, who doesn’t want to haul a family, pull a camper, and maybe go off-roading in a Rivian? I know I do! According to ISEA, last year’s winner thought much the same way we do. “I knew the funds would go to a good cause advancing solar adoption, so I entered the raffle hoping to win, or at least do a little good!”
Again, you can enter the raffle right here.
