AIC Mines has discovered a third mineralised lens at its Jericho copper deposit in north-west Queensland.
Drilling has confirmed a new lens of copper-gold mineralisation, (called the J0 lens), located 100m west of the Jolly shoot and parallel to the established J1 and J2 lenses.
The J0 lens extends for more than 1km in strike, remains open down dip and along strike, and lies close to the Jericho access drive.
Significant recent intercepts include:
- 6m at 2.5 per cent copper and 0.6 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 109m (JERC086)
- 3m at 1.7 per cent copper and 0.3g/t gold from 207m (JEDD082)
- 3m at 1.4 per cent copper and 0.2g/t gold from 172m (JEDD085)
“Infill drilling at Matilda and Jolly has returned pleasing results,” AIC Mines managing director and chief executive officer Aaron Colleran said. “These are good results and right where we need them – right where we intend to start mining at Jericho.
“Jericho continues to deliver. The definition of a new lens at the northern end of the deposit opens up a new target area that is relatively close to surface and close to the Jericho access drive.”
The Jericho deposit is located just 4km south of AIC’s operating Eloise copper mine and processing plant, with mineralisation now defined over a 5km strike length and to a vertical depth of 650m, with potential for further extensions.
Drilling at the Matilda and Jolly shoots within the J1 lens also confirmed high-grade continuity, with results including 4m at 4.9 per cent copper and 1.5g/t gold from 123m (JERC085) and 6m at 2.3 per cent copper and 0.8g/t gold from 278m (JEDD086).
With the addition of the J0 lens, AIC Mines has strengthened its development options for Jericho, enhancing the project’s scale and alignment with Eloise operations.
