NRW Holdings subsidiary Golding Contractors has signed a four-year contract extension with Aberdare Collieries, a subsidiary of CS Energy.
Having now signed a contract mining agreement (CMA), the extension will take the partnership to 2030, with the option for CS Energy to extend the contract for a further two years.
The deal is valued at $245 million across its life, which includes mine plan scope changes.
Golding Contractors is set to supply all major equipment under the CMA, with the extension requiring a new capital spend of approximately $10 million in the 2024–25 financial year (FY25).
Golding Contractors will continue to employ up to 100 people at the project, most of which live in the local Chinchilla or broader south-east Queensland regions.
Following the signing of its major $973 million contract with Northern Star in July, NRW last month announced a suite of contract awards across its subsidiaries, tipped to total over $200 million.
Golding Contractors was awarded a civil works contract with Lendlease for works at the Shoreline residential development in Redland Bay, Queensland.
NRW subsidiary DIAB Engineering scored $29 million for dry plant structural mechanical piping and site materials management across two separate sites in Western Australia, expected to be completed by the end of this year.
NRW’s civil division was also awarded three new contracts in the Pilbara with a combined value of $78 million. The company’s newly acquired subsidiary OFI is also seeing some action with a $13 million defence related contract for various electrical works.
NRW shelled out upwards of $4 million for OFI back in March, which it expected to generate $40 million in revenue into 2024.
