Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) on sensors and command-and-control systems for a ground-based air defence system solution for brigades. The order value is approximately SEK 2.1 billion. Deliveries will take place 2027-2028.
The command and control and the sensor systems continue to build on previous deliveries to FMV to strengthen the Swedish ground-based air defence. In addition to the command-and-control system (LSS Lv) and the Giraffe 1X radar, the order consists of weapon system integration, studies and spare parts. This gives the customer a highly mobile short-range ground-based air defence system.
The contract also includes an integration study to complement the ground-based air defence system for brigades with Giraffe AMB radar for medium-range surveillance.
“We are very proud to contribute to a strengthened ground-based air defence capability for the Swedish brigades. The contract gives an increased capability to control the battle, but also to detect and engage airborne threats through world-class command-and-control and sensor systems, says Carl-Johan Bergholm, head of Saab’s business area Surveillance.
The command-and-control system for ground-based air defence (LSS Lv) is software used by the unit to control the battle in engaging air targets, distribute target data and perform planning and evaluation of the ground-based air defence combat. Read More

Orlen Lithuania, the Lithuanian oil refining and import arm of Poland’s Orlen Group, has terminated a contract worth almost €1 billion with the UK-based energy project management company Petrofac. Petrofac is in the process of firing around 200 of its staff in the United Arab Emirates, with a day’s notice.

Around 180 people in the UAE connected to an offshore wind grid programme that underpinned most of the company’s engineering and construction revenue were laid off last week, ending on November 19.

According to Gulf News, a source close to the matter revealed that salaries were being paid only up to November 19, with no clarity on notice periods or gratuity. Those laid off workers include project directors, senior engineers, and support staff linked to the now-terminated 2GW offshore wind transmission programme with TenneT. Read More

PetroChina Guangxi Petrochemical’s ethylene project was completed and commissioned at the Qinzhou Port in Guangxi. It is the largest one-million-tonne-scale ethylene project in Southwest China.

The project is not only a 1.2 million-ton-per-year ethylene plant, but also involves 14 chemical units, two oil refining units, and supporting utilities. It includes the world’s largest 1.2 million-tonne-per-year diesel adsorption separation unit, which boosts feedstock utilization efficiency by over 15% compared to conventional processes. Additionally, it features PetroChina’s first self-developed 80,000-tonne-per-year styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) and 120,000-tonne-per-year functionalized solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (FSSBR) units. It also incorporates key facilities such as the world’s first ethylene refrigeration compressor equipped with the largest dual-converter non-interruption switching motor, demonstrating the maturity of China’s independent technological system in the petrochemical sector.

Upon full operation, the project will cut annual oil product output by 3.49 million tonnes while increasing the production of chemical products by 3.06 million tonnes per year. Read More

Bentley Motors today announced funding for a major environmental initiative off the Southeastern Australian coast supported by Seatrees – a launch partner of the Bentley Environmental Foundation. Since 2023, Bentley’s collaboration with Seatrees has enabled the Foundation to fund restoration projects across Kenya, Spain, Portugal, and the US. This new project will see the Foundation expanding into Australian waters, where funding will contribute to the restoration of Phyllospora comosa (“crayweed”), a kelp species once lost from this coastline.

The Project

Kelp forests are among the most important ecosystems on the planet, providing critical food and habitat for hundreds of species. These vast underwater forests in Australia support coastal food webs, sequester atmospheric carbon, produce oxygen for marine life, and support unique coastal biodiversity. However, during the 1980’s, crayweed disappeared from Sydney’s reefs due to poor water quality and urban impacts. Bentley’s support will help re-establish this essential habitat and food source for Sydney’s coastal marine biodiversity.

The restoration will take place along the South Bondi subtidal rocky reef, where two sites will be restored to create 12,000 square feet of kelp forest. Working with local partners Operation Crayweed and the Sydney Institute of Marine Science, the project involves transplanting healthy adult crayweed from existing populations and attaching them to deforested rocks using biodegradable mesh mats drilled into the reef. These transplanted adults will reproduce and establish new, self-sustaining populations, which divers will monitor to ensure survival and the return of marine life. Read More

The first automotive application of digital light processing, originally introduced for Mulliner’s coachbuilt Batur, has enabled the ability to offer customers the chance to curate their own personal animated welcome lamp projection as they enter their Bentley.

Bentley has crafted in wood, leather and metal for over 100 years, and now through the art of digital craftsmanship, light becomes the next medium – bridging the gap between handcrafted luxury and digital animation. In Bentley’s future, light will not only be used for illumination but will become an integral part of the design language. The curated animation consists of two parts. Firstly, an introduction sequence when the door is first opened, and then secondly a looped animation that projects continuously. The animation designer is able to incorporate other features from the cabin or exterior and bring them to life – for example, personalised embroidery could be animated, adding further cohesion to the theme. The animation could be as concise as a handwritten projection or as detailed as a floating feather. Read More

With the Panamera Turbo ‘Sonderwunsch’, Porsche demonstrated how an individual customer vision for a sports car exterior could become reality. Now, as part of the Icons of Porsche festival in Dubai, the sports car manufacturer is showing an equally special interior, thereby completing an individual customer dream. Fade effects and contrasting colours that correspond to the exterior, as well as perfect craftsmanship, make the interior of this Panamera truly unique. The car’s humidor and Champagne cooler are examples of how exceptionally luxurious ideas can also be realised in the interior. Two concept features created in the design studio illustrate how even the most unusual requests can be realised with the greatest attention to detail. In the cigar humidor, cedarwood inserts and a hygrometer ensure that humidity is always at the optimum level. The humidor is located in the storage compartment of the centre console with a glass cover allowing the fine tobacco products to be viewed. The removable inserts contain high-quality accessories such as a cigar cutter and lighter.

Another example of a potential equipment detail is the illuminated Champagne cooler. Integrated into the rear seat, it offers space for a small bottle and two glasses, which can be stored in the armrest. The components are painted in Avium, and the bottle holder itself is made from black leather and embossed with ‘Sonderwunsch’ lettering. The Porsche crest on the armrest is finished in Turbonite.

At press time November 25, 2025 .

Golar LNG Limited announced that it has successfully closed and drawn a new $1.2 billion asset backed debt facility agreement with a consortium of banks including ABN AMRO, Citibank, DNB, Goldman Sachs and Standard Chartered Bank for the refinancing of FLNG Gimi. The new $1.2bn bank facility replaces an existing bank facility with an outstanding amount of $627 million as at Q3 2025.

The new debt facility has a 7-year tenor, 16-year amortization profile and will incur interest at SOFR plus a margin of 2.50% p.a. Golar’s 70% share of the net liquidity released from the bank refinancing amounts to approximately $400 million after repayment of the existing Gimi debt facility and unwinding of the existing interest-rate swap. Golar’s CEO, Karl Fredrik Staubo commented: “We are pleased to see strong interest from leading international banks to provide attractive financing for the FLNG Gimi. The new facility has improved terms compared to Gimi’s initial financing facility, which was put in place upon ordering of the FLNG Gimi. The new facility proves the bankability of Golar’s FLNG assets once operational on their long-term FLNG contracts at ~5.5x debt to EBITDA ratio.” Read More
