Crash at a petrol station

A man and woman have been killed following a crash at a petrol station in the early hours of Saturday morning according to media reports.

Emergency services were called to the one-vehicle collision on the A167 at Ferryhill, County Durham, at around 1.40am on Saturday, November 1.

It is understood a Ford Ka was heading northbound from Chilton to Thinford, before it veered from the road and struck a BP petrol station forecourt on the opposite side of the carriageway.

Durham Police attended the scene, alongside North East Ambulance Service, Great North Air Ambulance and County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service teams.

The man and woman were confirmed dead at the scene, despite the efforts of emergency responders.
