E-bikes might be the most fun of the electrified personal transportation options. They get people outdoors with the intention of enjoying some movement, scenery, and socializing when they are riding together. They also can be used for some people as replacements for driving four-wheeled vehicles to do some basic errands.
I have seen some people riding them around a college campus, shopping centers, and so on where they were able to move steadily along without having to drive and park a much larger vehicle. They also can be effective for those who don’t want to spend much more on a car or SUV or those who can’t afford four-wheel transportation.
Gazelle recently announced its fall e-bike lineup with several comfort-oriented e-bikes. Mark Danhof, General Manager at Gazelle Bikes North America, answered some questions about them for CleanTechnica.
For each of the three e-bikes, what is the purpose or use case and who are they for?
Easyflow C7: The Easyflow C7 is Gazelle’s most radically inclusive bike to date, designed for riders who want maximum comfort and confidence on every ride. It was built for people who may be shorter, older, or returning to cycling after a break and want a stable, upright position that feels secure. The bike is easy to get on and ride, thanks to an extra-wide low step-through frame, while the pedal-forward geometry lets riders place both feet flat on the ground when stopped. With 24-inch wheels, a long wheelbase, and an upright position, the Easyflow feels smooth and steady whether cruising around town or enjoying a relaxed weekend ride. An adjustable Switch stem and integrated rearview mirror add further comfort and safety.
Arroyo C380 and C5: The Arroyo line has long been Gazelle’s signature “comfort bike,”often described as a “sofa on wheels” and the new C5 and C380 carry that reputation forward for riders who want a smooth, upright, and carefree ride. Think of them as the ultimate everyday bikes for people who want to glide through their commute, run errands in town, or simply enjoy relaxed rides without worrying about back strain or fiddly maintenance. Both models share a comfortable Dutch-style step-through frame, wide tires, a suspension seatpost, and an upright riding posture that reduces strain on your wrists, shoulders, and lower back — making it easy to ride longer and arrive feeling fresh.
The Arroyo C5 and C380 are built on the same foundation, but they appeal to slightly different riders. The C5 is perfect for those who want a simple, low-maintenance setup: it uses an internal gear hub paired with a belt drive, making it smooth, quiet, and easy to care for. The C380 is for riders who want shifting to be completely effortless, with its continuously variable hub that lets you twist to the perfect gear without ever feeling a “click.” Both offer plenty of power and range for everyday use, but the C380 leans into convenience and ease, while the C5 balances comfort with practicality at a more approachable price.
How much do these bikes weigh?
All three models fall in the mid-50-pound range, typical for comfort-oriented e-bikes. The Easyflow, with its smaller wheels and longer wheelbase, is about 55 pounds (excl. battery), while the Arroyo models are a few pounds more depending on size and drivetrain.
What’s the expected range?
The Easyflow’s Shimano EP5 motor and 504 Wh battery provide up to 60 miles on a charge depending on terrain, rider weight, and assist level. The Arroyo C5 and C380, with Bosch’s Performance Line motor and a larger 540 Wh battery, deliver up to 70 miles of range.

How fast can they go?
All models are Class 1 e-bikes in North America, which means they provide pedal assist up to 20 mph.
How long does charging take?
Recharging any of the bikes’ batteries from empty takes around 4–5 hours with the standard charger.
What are the prices?
The Easyflow C7 is $3,999 in the U.S. ($4,999 CAD). The Arroyo C5 is priced at $3,999 in the U.S. ($5,499 CAD), while the Arroyo C380 is $4,499 in the U.S. ($5,999 CAD).
What sizes are available?
The Easyflow C7 comes in one highly adjustable size to fit a wide range of riders 4’9’’ and up. The Arroyo models are available in multiple frame sizes; 46 (S), 53 (M), and 57 (L) to accommodate different heights.
What warranty does Gazelle provide?
All models come with Gazelle’s comprehensive warranty: 10 years on the frame, 5 years on paint, and 2 years on electronics and battery.
