As we expected, automakers had a strong quarter of EV sales in the 3rd quarter in the USA, and that includes Chevrolet. GM’s mass-market brand scored 37,114 EV sales last quarter, up 86.2% from 19,933 sales in the 3rd quarter of 2024.
However, it’s not just about the federal EV tax credit getting killed by Republicans in Congress and Donald Trump (and buyers thus rushing to buy EVs before the tax credit was gone). The Equinox EV was quite young — just in its second quarter of existence — last year in the 3rd quarter. It had 9,772 sales in Q3 2024 and 25,085 sales in Q3 of 2025, a 156.7% increase. It is also the best-selling non-Tesla EV in the USA.
Additionally, the Silverado EV nearly doubled its sales year over year. It reached 1,995 in Q3 2024, and it increased that to 3,940 sales in Q3 2025.
The Bolt EV/EUV had a trickle of sales still in the 3rd quarter of last year and none this year, and the Chevy Blazer EV grew by just 1.1%, from 7,998 sales in the 3rd quarter of last year to the 3rd quarter of this year.
Looking across the first 9 months of the year, here’s how these EV models from Chevrolet have done:
- Blazer EV: 20,825 sales in 2025, versus 15,232 in 2024, up 36.7%
- Equinox EV: 52,834 sales in 2025, versus 10,785 in 2024, up 389.9%
- Silverado EV: 9,379 sales in 2025, versus 5,252 in 2024, up 78.6%
So, yeah, things are going pretty well for Chevrolet EVs. Overall, though, there’s also still tons of room for improvement — even in the 3rd quarter, EV sales only accounted for 8.1% of Chevrolet’s total sales (far less than Cadillac’s 39.5%). Let’s see what happens in the remainder of the year, and beyond.
