By consolidating multiple businesses under two flagship locations in Richlands and Kemps Creek, Motion’s Fluid Power Solutions group is offering customers a more streamlined, efficient, and responsive experience – one that combines hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial hose expertise in a single site.
From emergency response to day-to-day supply, when time is tight and margins are tighter, every delay counts. That’s why Motion has brought three of its Fluid Power Solutions businesses under one roof in each of two major Australian locations: South Brisbane’s Richlands and Sydney’s Kemps Creek. For customers, that means faster turnaround times, better access to technical specialists, and less logistical back-and-forth.
Richlands: consolidated expertise, greater capacity
In Brisbane, Motion’s new Richlands site combines the capabilities of Hardy Spicer, AIP, and Powell Industrial into a single 6800m² facility, with more than 5800 pallet spaces and a fully equipped hose assembly workshop.
“The biggest benefit is bringing three of our businesses under one roof, which gives us a bigger spread in our staffing levels and coverage across the board,” said Troy Giggins, Motion’s business operations manager. “Customers can now come to one site instead of three different ones – and with one phone call, they’ve got access to experts from across three divisions.”
That matters when speed is of the essence. Giggins points to recent flood events as a real-world example.
“We work with major customers in emergency dewatering and pump deployment. When there’s flooding, we need to get hose systems out quickly. Having the stock, people and expertise in one place means we can action those critical jobs much faster. It’s not just good service – it’s essential support.”
Kemps Creek: modern logistics in Sydney’s freight hub
In NSW, Motion’s new Sydney facility in Kemps Creek does something similar: bringing together three existing fluid power sites and one new business into a single, central location. Situated in the Oakdale West industrial estate – a booming logistics hub near major freight corridors – the 5772m² facility offers warehouse, workshop and office space that positions the team for responsive, full-scope support.
