Wellbeing, privacy and access control – see Salto in action

For mining site operators, operational efficiency, safety and worker experience are top priorities.

Salto’s ground-breaking access technology helps them to achieve all three. Salto provides:

  • Electronic locks for doors, turnstiles, lifts, barriers, gates and lockers
  • ‘Credentials’ – a credential is the equivalent of a key – it can be a keycard, fob, mobile phone or even the worker’s face – they offer greater flexibility and security and much lower cost than traditional keys
  • Access management software that helps mining companies to manage all locks and access points remotely, keep an audit trail of all access and attempted access, and which interface with other systems such as transportation, security and building management.

The combination of the locks, credentials and software enables mining companies to keep workers safe and secure, improve camp management efficiency, and create a streamlined experience for workers.

  • Rapid, efficient pre-check in, integrating transportation and accommodation data, getting workers straight from the flight to their room
  • Secure room access, with fast cancellation and replacement of lost ‘keys’ (key cards or fobs)
  • New face recognition locks to eliminate keycards and fobs altogether, further increasing security
  • Individual, secure lockers in rooms and transit facilities, to keep personal items safe
  • Time-based access to enable facilities like gyms and laundries to be female only spaces at designated times
  • Restaurant turnstiles with keycard access, to ensure one worker, one meal
  • Audit trail to show attempted security breaches and provide wellbeing alerts
  • Empty room detection integrated with energy management systems – automatically turning off lights and aircon when the room is not occupied.

Now you can see the system in practice: Salto be at the two big mining shows in September and October, demonstrating the company’s technology and explaining how it helps drive efficiency, safety and worker experience.

You can visit the Salto team at:

  • Stand R32, AIMEX SA Mining Expo, September 23-25, Adelaide Showground
  • Stand D107, WA Mining Oct 8-9, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre

In an Australian first, Salto will be demonstrating the new XS4 Face – the lock that uses the worker’s face to open the door.
