Thriveni converts another hydraulic excavator to electric at Pakri Parwadih – International Mining

Thriveni Group says it continues to lead the charge in transforming India’s mining landscape with a firm commitment to sustainable and responsible practices. It states: “As part of our long-term environmental vision, we are actively moving away from the traditional diesel-centric model and embracing cleaner, energy-efficient technologies to reduce carbon emissions and promote eco-friendly mining operations.”

The company, which recently demerged its contracting business to become part of Lloyd’s Metals & Energy, said: “We are thrilled to share the successful electrical conversion of yet another HEMM – the [Komatsu] PC3000 – marking a significant leap forward in our sustainability mission. This achievement represents the 5th electric conversion at the Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining Project and the 11th electric machine commissioned across our operations in just five years. It stands as a proud testament to the technical brilliance, commitment, and innovation of our in-house experts, reinforcing Thriveni’s position at the forefront of green mining solutions.”

In addition to this achievement, Thriveni says it continues to operate a world-class fleet of electric mining equipment, including the Terex (Caterpillar) RH340 (34 m³), Hitachi EX2500 (15 m³), Komatsu PC3000 (15 m³), and five rope shovels (10.5 m³). “These assets highlight Thriveni’s exceptional technical capabilities and in-house engineering excellence, as we champion sustainable mining solutions aligned with the ‘Make in India’ vision, promoting self-reliance and sustainable industrial development.”

It concludes: “Together, we are driving meaningful change – laying the foundation for a cleaner, more sustainable world for generations to come.”
