Global dump bodies designer and manufacturer Duratray International has won the resources and energy award at the 2023 Government of Victoria Export awards (GOVEA).

Duratray is the only non-original equipment manufacturer of dump bodies based in Victoria. It exports to 35 countries, including Papua New Guinea, South Africa, China, and Mexico.

The GOVEA’s resources and energy award highlights outstanding international success in production, processing, value adding of extractive resources or provision of equipment, services or solutions related to the mining, oil and gas, and renewables industries.

Duratray winning this award placed a spotlight on its suspended dump body, a unique concept in lightweight trays, and its Smart Tray 4.0, which is its latest product and an advanced automated analytics device that allows customers to make decisions in real-time through data monitoring and alerts.

This year’s GOVEA event took place at Government House on October 12, and it celebrated the state’s most innovative exporters and recognising their success on an international scale.

The event represents a wide range of industries such as resources and energy, manufacturing, advanced materials, sustainability and professional services.

At the celebration, Victorian Minister for Economic Growth Tim Pallas joined Governor of Victoria Margaret Gardner to celebrate the 2023 winners.

“Our GOVEA winners supply products and services of the highest quality to all corners of the globe – and they are part of an export network that underpins thousands of Victorian jobs,” Pallas said.

“Victoria’s natural innovation bent is complemented by a thriving research and development sector. The results are world-beating companies that do us all proud.”

This year marks the 44th year in which the GOVEA event has been held.

Duratray celebrated its 20th anniversary in Australia since being acquired by Conyment International Group last year.
