Austmine and CEMI sign MoU to drive ‘impactful change’ – International Mining

Austmine, the leading industry association for the Australian Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector, and the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI), the organisation behind the Mining Innovation Commercialization Accelerator (MICA) program, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in what they say marks a significant step towards accelerating innovation, fostering collaboration and promoting sustainability in the global mining industry.

The MoU outlines a shared vision to develop strategies that advance the adoption of innovative solutions, create robust networks of mining innovators in Australia and Canada, and champion the global competitiveness and sustainability of the mining sector. Key objectives include fostering open innovation, addressing industry challenges and facilitating international knowledge sharing between the two nations renowned for their mining excellence.

Austmine’s Director of International Business, Robert Trzebski, said: “This partnership with CEMI represents an exciting opportunity to unite two of the world’s most innovative mining hubs. By working together, we can enhance technology transfer, strengthen industry collaboration, and drive impactful change that aligns with global ESG priorities.”

Austmine and CEMI will also organise joint activities in key mining markets and engage with industry, academic and government stakeholders to ensure sustainable advancements for the sector.
