‘Significant’ intersections achieved at Sunday Creek

Southern Cross Gold has made a breakthrough at its Christina prospect in Victoria, with the latest drilling results confirming high-grade mineralisation at significant depths.

The Christina prospect is part of the Sunday Creek gold-antimony project. Southern Cross Gold owns 1054.51 hectares (10.5 km2) of the project land.

The latest drilling results at Christina reinforce Sunday Creek’s long-term potential, with drill hole SDDSC150, the deepest hole drilled, delivering an intersection of 1.7m at 204.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold at approximately 450m below surface.

“These results mark a significant milestone in our understanding of Christina’s potential as we continue to expand and demonstrate high grades further west and at depth at Sunday Creek,” Southern Cross Gold president and chief executive officer Michael Hudson said.

“Intersecting such exceptional grades is a remarkable result. What’s particularly encouraging is that these intersections came from what were initially planned as control holes to test the east-west mineralised host location (the ‘rails of the ladder’).”

Hudson said that holes have instead revealed multiple high-grade veins (‘the rungs of the ladder’) and demonstrated that high grades are maintained at depth.

“The consistency of the vein frequency continues to demonstrate that we are dealing with a robust and well-developed system,” he said.

“This provides confidence in the potential for further high-grade discoveries as we continue to test the depth extensions of the Christina prospect.

“The project footprint now spans 1350m strike from Christina to Apollo prospects, with only approximately 620m has been more intensively drill tested … Most importantly, the consistency in grade distribution, structural characteristics, and host rock properties remains predictable at depth.”

Southern Cross Gold is currently conducting one of the world’s largest exploration drill programs, with 60km of drilling planned through the third quarter of 2025.

With twelve holes currently being processed and five more in progress, Southern Cross Gold is well-positioned to continue expanding what is shaping up to be a globally significant discovery.
