Fenix achieves haulage milestone

Fenix Resources has successfully hauled six million dry metric tonnes of iron ore from its Western Australian mining operations.

Since commencing iron ore production in December 2020, Fenix’s flagship Iron Ridge iron ore mine in WA has produced quality products at a consistent rate of 1.3 million dry metric tonnes per annum.

The iron ore product is transported by road to Geraldton using the Newhaul road logistics business, which Fenix acquired in July 2022.

Fenix produced and sold its two millionth dry metric tonne from Iron Ridge in 2022, and the company hauled its five millionth dry metric tonne from the operation in September 2024.

Now, the company has hauled six million dry metric tonnes.

Fenix credited the operational milestone to more tonnes being hauled from Iron Ridge during the December 2024 quarter at a production run rate of 1.4 million dry metric tonnes per annum. Haulage from the Twin Peaks iron ore mine, the Shine iron ore mine –  which Fenix acquired from Mount Gibson in 2023 – and Fenix’s other logistics customers also contributed.

Fenix’s WA mining portfolio currently comprises Iron Ridge, which is known to host some of the highest-grade iron ore in WA, Shine, Twin Peaks, and the Beebyn-W11 deposit.

Soon to join the fray is the historic Beebynganna Hills iron ore project in WA, which Fenix announced it had acquired from Spartan Resources earlier this week. The transaction is set to provide Fenix with resource expansion opportunities near its existing mining operations.

Fenix also plans to increase its production in 2025 through the addition of production from Shine and Beebyn-W11.
