SCS Technologies Appoints Will Taylor as New Director of Engineering for CO2 Measurement, Methane Vapor Recovery, LACT Unit Provider

Tenured Engineer Offers Twenty Years Experience in Product Design, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance of Oil & Gas Onshore, Offshore Equipment

HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#CleanEnergy–Today, SCS Technologies (SCS), a leading provider of CO2 measurement systems, methane vapor recovery units, and petroleum LACT units, announced the appointment of Will Taylor as the new Director of Engineering. Taylor brings more than twenty years of experience in onshore and offshore product design, project management, manufacturing and quality assurance.

“Will Taylor’s extensive experience in oil and gas production engineering, coupled with his passion for harnessing technology to optimize existing products and systems, makes him the ideal leader for SCS’ engineering initiatives,” said Cody Johnson, CEO of SCS Technologies. “As we intensify our focus on delivering unparalleled customer experiences through advanced digitization, intelligent automation, and AI-powered processes, Will’s expertise will be instrumental in driving our innovation forward.”

Previously, Taylor served as an engineering manager and mechanical engineer at NOV, where he most recently worked as the engineering manager responsible for offshore surface, subsea, and land equipment relating to BOP control systems. At NOV, Taylor acquired deep experience in the design, manufacture and quality inspection and assurance of various onshore and offshore equipment, including subsea umbilicals, hydraulic power units, skids, winches, tensioners and cranes. Leaning on his process and project planning strengths, Taylor also provided project management for large capital-expenditure projects involving purchasing, commissioning and installation of new equipment.

As a mechanical engineer at CraneWorks, Inc., Taylor led project engineering and management projects for large super-lift crawler cranes, offshore pedestal cranes and smaller knuckle-boom and telescopic cranes.

“I’m thrilled to join SCS Technologies at this pivotal moment as we spearhead a transformative digital initiative focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences,” Taylor said. “While I’ll draw upon my extensive engineering background, this role presents exciting new challenges and opportunities that I’m eager to tackle. I look forward to driving innovation that will redefine industry standards and create lasting value for our clients.”

Taylor brings a comprehensive suite of certifications and expertise to his role, including:

  • Advanced quality management: Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Process optimization: 5S, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Industry compliance: Proficiency in DNVGL, API, ASME, ISO 9001, OSHA, LOLER, PUWER, and DOT standards
  • Engineering expertise: Demonstrated mastery in structural, mechanical, and lifting engineering calculations

This strategic skill set positions Taylor to drive operational excellence, ensure regulatory adherence, and spearhead innovative engineering solutions across SCS Technologies’ product portfolio.
