Epiroc powers up with new launch

The Epiroc new generation PowerROC T35 surface drill rig offers both increased fuel efficiency and faster operations.

The new generation PowerROC T35 comes with a slew of benefits.

The fuel consumption is up to 40 per cent lower compared to the previous PowerROC T35 rig due to the auto engine speed control, which enables automatic optimisation of the engine speed for all operations.

“We are very excited to launch an updated version of the this highly regarded surface drill rig,” Epiroc Surface Division senior product manager Masanori Kogushi said.

“This new generation PowerROC T35 is our most fuel-efficient PowerROC rig ever.”

The PowerROC T35 is set to boost production at sites and is 45 per cent faster at changing rods compared to the previous version.

A trouble shoot function is also built into the touch-screen display. With the compact design, a new hydraulic return filter has been included, which reduces the amount of hydraulic oil that is required by 50 per cent.

Service points are also easily accessible, making maintenance easier, and the longer service intervals will help to lower the total cost of ownership.

“The operator will also be happy to discover several improvements in the cabin,” Epiroc said.

“The cabin is now equipped with updated ergonomic joysticks which make operation more comfortable. The upgraded air conditioner, with higher cooling performance, will also have a positive effect on the cabin environment.”
