IGNACIO, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#arrowheadcontractingSouthern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund – The Southern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund, the business entity of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, announced today the strategic acquisition of Arrowhead Contracting, a leading environmental remediation services provider and general contractor, by Kava Equity Partners.

Founded by Curt Koutelas in 1990 and headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, Arrowhead focuses on environmental remediation projects in addition to general contracting projects for commercial, federal, and Native American customers. This strategic acquisition marks a significant step for Kava Equity Partners, expanding its portfolio into the federal government contracting sector in partnership with a proven industry leader. Arrowhead’s deep expertise in environmental remediation and decades-long track record delivering exceptional quality on government and commercial projects strongly position the firm to capitalize on the growing demand for improved environmental stewardship as well as infrastructure development across various government agencies. Going forward, Arrowhead will retain the existing management team and continue to provide the same high-quality services to customers enhanced by the additional resources and capabilities of Kava and the Growth Fund.

“Arrowhead Contracting has a proven history of quality work and profitable growth, making it a perfect fit for our investment portfolio,” said James Dudley, Managing Director for Kava. “We are excited about this partnership and are committed to supporting the Arrowhead management team and the further development of the company.”

“This investment in Arrowhead provides us with the crucial resources needed to fuel further growth and expansion. It also enhances our capability to serve our federal and commercial clients,” stated Curt Koutelas, Founder and CEO of Arrowhead Contracting. “Our experienced leadership team will continue to lead, ensuring stability and continuity for both our clients and employees. This is a vital step towards strategic growth,” he added.

Kava’s goal is to diversify and grow the Tribe’s investments by making private equity investments in lower middle market companies that see business value in partnering with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe and are aligned with the Tribe’s cultural, environmental, and economic values.

“Through this strategic acquisition, Kava intends to leverage its resources to enhance Arrowhead’s operational efficiency and broaden its presence in the environmental remediation and construction sectors. Our shared vision of delivering exceptional service quality while honoring our cultural values and heritage is what makes this partnership truly valuable,” said Shane Seibel, Executive Director for the Growth Fund.

Holland & Hart LLP and Maynes, Bradford, Shipps & Sheftel, LLP provided legal counsel to Kava Equity Partners on the transaction. CC Capital Advisors served as financial advisor to Arrowhead Contracting.
