Koba Resources is set to start an extensive drilling programme at the Yarramba Uranium Project in South Australia, targeting resource growth and new discoveries.
The company secured all necessary permits and clearances, setting the stage for the first exploration efforts at the site in more than a decade.
The planned 11,000m drilling campaign is scheduled to begin in early August 2024.
This programme will focus on expanding the 4.6mlb Oban uranium deposit and exploring the Mt John Prospect, situated near existing uranium operations.
Koba said the permits allow it drill up to 500 holes, providing the flexibility to extend the exploration based on initial findings.
The company is also reviewing other prospects within the 5,000km² project area and has engaged a geophysical consultant to refine exploration targets.

Koba managing director and CEO Ben Vallerine said: “The 4.6mlb Oban Deposit is an outstanding first up drill target. Koba has an opportunity to grow Oban into a significant deposit by extending the high-grade trends along strike.
“Drilling planned at the Mt John Prospect has the potential for the discovery of high-grade uranium deposits within 4km of the 10.7mlb Jason Uranium Deposit.
“This will be the first of many drilling programmes at the Yarramba Project as we look to aggressively explore over 5,000km² of tenure and 250km of palaeochannels that are prospective for uranium within Australia’s premier uranium district.”
In April this year, Koba sealed an option deal to acquire a 100% interest in the Harrier Uranium Project in eastern Canada.
The agreement was signed with a local geologist based in Newfoundland (vendor).
