I received a LiTime 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery a few months ago. It’s a super portable, compact, easy-to-use battery. Furthermore, using Bluetooth, you can connect via the LiTime App and monitor basically any aspect of the battery from anywhere in the world. And, at the moment, it’s quite cheap — LiTime* is offering a 49% discount, bringing the price down to $269.99.

The battery can be used to store extra solar energy, for camping, with an RV, or in various other ways. If you’ve got a camper van or portable solar panels, the battery can be very useful for getting more out of your time off the grid and being able to power more devices and appliances for longer. With “EV Grade-A LiFePO4 cells,” the battery can experience a 100% depth of discharge (DoD) at least 4,000 times. You don’t have to worry about pampering the battery or degradation. Based on the specs, LiTime estimates a $0.1/kWh total cost of ownership (TCO), but I have to think that it could be much better than that if you used it to its max. Oh, also, that TCO must be based on the original price, and it’s currently 49% off, so it should be more like $0.05/kWh TCO. (And free shipping is included.)

Furthermore, it’s got a nice feature for those of you living in colder climates. It includes “low-temp cut-off protection” to protect the battery in especially cold temperatures. It also includes automatic overload protection. Overall, the battery management system (BMS) includes more than 20 different protections and warnings.

Compared to a lead-acid battery, which is traditionally the kind of battery used for these 12V applications, the LiTime LiFePO4 battery is about 10 times more efficient charging. And it has about twice the runtime.

Before I go on, there’s a superb video review of the battery right here that walks through everything very clearly and efficiently while also testing out the battery:

That includes using the app, by the way, if you want a thorough walkthrough on the app. It also includes proof of key automatic safety shutoffs in case you’re trying to pull too much current from it and also preventing charging when the temperature is too low. As the host notes, “LiTime, you nailed it out of the park with this one. This is fantastic.” It’s hard to argue otherwise!

Here are some more stats on the battery:

  • 1280Wh of high energy, 1280W of large output Power
  • 500A/1S peak discharge current to withstand larger surges
  • Group 24 battery size, 75% the size/200% the energy of a 12V 100Ah Lead-Acid battery
  • Max 20.48kWh expandable energy (Max 4P4S)

Check out more specs on the 12V 100Ah Group24 Bluetooth if that’s not enough for you.

Note that you can get even better deals on the LiTime website during 2024 Prime Day — you can save up to 50% off.

To wrap things up, the battery comes with a 5-year warranty, technical support within 24 hours, and free returns within 30 days if you aren’t happy with the battery for any reason. What’s not to love?
