Cadillac just set a new high bar for itself — and other legacy auto brands — in the 3rd quarter, with 40% of its US sales being electrics in the quarter (or 39.51% if you want to move the decimal point).

The LYRIQ led the line, with 7,309 sales, up slightly from 7,224 the year before. That may seem like disappointing growth year over year (+1.2%), but this year, the LYRIQ has serious backup — and internal competition. The OPTIQ had 4,886 sales in the 3rd quarter, up from 0 (zero) in the 3rd quarter of 2024. The VISTIQ had 3,924 sales in the 3rd quarter, up from 0 (zero) in the 3rd quarter of 2024. And the Escalade IQ had 2,264 sales in the 3rd quarter, up from 0 (zero) in the 3rd quarter of 2024.

Overall, that means Cadillac’s electric vehicle sales increased 145.5% year over year in the 3rd quarter. They reached 18,383 total sales, out of Cadillac’s 46,525 overall sales.

The LYRIQ and the OPTIQ were Cadillac’s second and fourth best selling models, respectively. The company also claims that the Cadillac brand “has three of the 10 best-selling EVs in the luxury segment through the end of September: LYRIQ (#2), OPTIQ (#5), and c (#6).”
And here’s one that may catch some eyes: Cadillac just had its best 3rd quarter and best first 9 months of the year since 2013! The brand is doing better than ever, and a lot of that is thanks to its new electric models.
